이 영화가 어렵다고 말하고 싶지는 않습니다. 그저 바라봅니다. 이해되지 않는다면 그대로 두고, 해결하지 못하는 문제는 억지로 풀려 하지 않고 그냥 놔둡니다. 어쩌면 그것이 문제를 해결하는 또 다른 방법일 수도 있기 때문입니다.
이 영화는 일반적이지 않습니다. 그리고 일반적이지 않다는 것은 대중적이지 않을 수도 있다는 의미이기도 합니다. 물론, 대중적인 것이 반드시 일반적이라는 뜻은 아니지만요. 아마 감독도 이 점을 충분히 알고 있을 것입니다. 그러나 그것이 무슨 문제이겠습니까?
이 작품을 감독이 자신의 세계를 표현하기 위한 예술적 도구로 본다면, 그 자체로 의미가 충분하지 않을까요?
I don’t want to say that this film is difficult to understand. I simply watch it. If something is incomprehensible, I let it be. If I cannot solve a problem right now, I leave it as it is—perhaps that in itself is another way to find a solution.
This film is not conventional. And being unconventional may also mean that it is not necessarily commercial. Of course, something being popular does not always mean it is ordinary. The director is surely aware of this as well. But does that really matter?
If we view this film as an artistic tool through which the director expresses his own world, then wouldn’t that be enough to appreciate it?
